Justin Whiteside
Justin SCA ⏩ Timbers Academy
🎙️🎯 Juatin: Two and half years ago I came to SCA because of the clubs values and how different they were compared to the other local clubs in Portland. They prioritized making you the best player you could possibly be but also being a good teammate. I would say that all of my abilities have increased levels since I’ve been at the club. I’m much better with my feet, I can see the field better, and my goalkeeping skills are much better due to the competitive environment. I credit SCA with where I am today, the player I’ve become, and I will always appreciate them for that.
🏟️⏬Justin moved to SCA from another local club going into his u13 season. He knew Jared Hoffman coming into tryouts, but not much else about the club. It only took a single “tryout” session for Justin to know that SCA felt like home.
🎙️As Justin progressed through the summer he met other coaches, José, Dan Ferguson, and his keeper coach John Melito. All coaches offered opportunities to be challenged, grow, and have fun. More important than anything, I feel, SCA’s approach allowed Justin to be a smarter player, and develop a true love of the game that hadn’t been present for a couple of years.
