Team Expectations

Before you accept a roster spot, we would like to make sure you have all of the information you need about the travel expenses, team expectations, and uniform expenses. Below you will find the average cost for kits, travel, tournaments, details about what it means to play on an SCA team within the various leagues we play in.

While we do offer financial assistance to qualified applicants for tuition, we don’t have financial aid available for team travel or uniforms. The club does provide numerous fundraising opportunities throughout the season if you choose to take part.

OYSA TEAM EXPECTATIONS

By accepting a roster spot on one of our OYSA teams, you are agreeing to the below:

Players are encouraged to be multi-sport athletes, but communication is required when a conflict arises. 

Kit Requirements

OYSA teams agree to purchase (1) one FULL SET of blue, purple, and grey uniforms, a grey quarter zip top, and team backpack. Dedicated goalies will purchase the grey practice uniform, the yellow goalkeeping uniform, quarter zip and backpack. Information will be sent via an email from soccer.com to place your order in the next 7-14 days. 

Tournament Policies

All players at SCA contribute to fees regardless of participation in the tournaments. 

Some OYSA teams may travel for events, both in and out of state. Each family is responsible for paying for hotel and travel expenses. Travel expenses for the coach are a shared team expense and are not included in tuition. They will be billed separately by the club along with tournament registration fees.

 

All-Club Mandatory Tournaments

All teams at SCA will be particpating in these Oregon summer tournaments: OR Surf Friendship Cup, SCA 3v3, SCA Super Cup, and Bend FC Premier Cup.

Some teams may also participate in: PAC NW, Beaverton Cup, Westside 4v4, Summer Showcase, and Surf Cup (California). Contact your director if you have questions.

Elite Academy 2 Team Expectations

By accepting a roster spot on one of our EA2 teams, you are agreeing to the below:

EA2 players are expected to have SCA as their primary sporting activity with trainings and games as f irst priorty. Kit Requirements EA2 teams agree to purchase (1) one FULL SET of blue, purple, and grey uniforms, a grey quarter zip top, and team backpack. Dedicated goalies will purchase the grey practice uniform, the yellow goalkeeping uniform, quarter zip and backpack.

Estimated 26/27 Season Team Travel Costs (Hotel & Transportation)

Below is a sample estimate of average cost per player. Prices will vary depending on locations, hotel costs, and time of year travel. There may be one additional regional travel event not included below in the expense breakdown (TBD).

Team Travel Policies

EA2 teams at SCA will ride together to travel events. This means that players will stay with their teammates in hotel rooms, eat with their team, and travel in team rented vans/buses, or carpools. Costs for these travel expenses are not included in tuition, and will be billed separately by the club. The club will charge each team and the cost will be split evenly among all players. These funds will then be used to purchase hotel bookings, team meals, coaches accommodations, and more.

Teams will travel with two chaperones per team. Parents are welcome to attend travel events and book their own accommodations. Please note that most travel events are mandatory. If your player is not able to attend an event, please contact your coach, team manager, and director to explain the situation. In many cases, there will still be some fees assessed regardless of participation in the event. Registration fees for required team events are divided across the entire team, even if your player cannot attend. Once paid for, many travel fees cannot be refunded.

Girls Academy + MLS NEXT Academy Team Expectations

 

By accepting a roster spot on one of our MLS Next Academy or Girls Academy teams, you are agreeing to the below:

MLS Next Academy and Girls Academy players are expected to have SCA as their primary
sporting activity with trainings and games as first priorty.

Kit Requirements

Girls Academy and MLS Next Academy teams agree to purchase (1) one FULL SET of blue, purple, and grey uniforms, a grey quarter zip top, team backpack, rain jacket, and pants. Dedicated goalies will purchase the grey practice uniform, the yellow goalkeeping uniform, rain jacket, quarter zip, pants, and backpack.

All Club Mandatory Tournaments

Additionally, GA and MLS teams may participate in Summer Showcase in Seattle, Washington.

These funds will then be used to purchase flights, hotel bookings, team meals, coaches accommodations, and more.
